A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into the campus of Milestone College in Uttara, Dhaka, on Monday, July 21, causing a devastating scene and prompting an immediate emergency response.

The Fire Service has confirmed 3 fatalities so far, while over 60 individuals—mostly students—have been injured, many of them with severe burns. The injured have been rushed to various hospitals, including the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Four critically injured individuals were transported to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) via Bangladesh Air Force helicopter. Others have been taken to nearby hospitals such as Bangladesh Medical College Hospital and Kuwait Maitree Hospital.

The incident occurred around 1:18 PM, and eight units of the Fire Service have been deployed to manage the rescue operation. Due to the magnitude of the crash, the Bangladesh Army and other security forces have also joined the operation.

Nobel Laureate and Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event, especially given that it occurred within a school campus.

Following the crash, videos and images of the aftermath went viral on social media, showing terrified students, panicked parents, and bystanders running for safety. While some people assisted in the rescue efforts, the growing crowd made it difficult for emergency services to operate smoothly.
